These are some of my favorite foods and drinks from Buenos Aires. Clockwise: dulce de leche pancakes & wine (my last meal in Argentina), the crazy-freshest fusilli that’s ever existed, a pre-breakfast dessert of apple cake & cafe con leche, and Campari naranja. That’s my sister in the bottom right pic; she’s studying in Argentina this semester. We had a time.
“I Shall Be Released,” as performed in The Last Waltz
It warrants a screencap cuz I have so much “Letters to Cleo energy” in my life right now and I feel really good about that. Currently listening to “Awake” for the first time in like 16 years.
definitely my favorite part of the Doors documentary I just watched
Up till now the idea of “Beach Boys playing live in 1976” never occurred to me. I generally don’t think about the Beach Boys very much, since music that is purely pop tends to depress me or at least just suck all my energy and make me cranky and mean-feeling. But here the Beach Boys are kinda gross and scuzzy and that’s so opposite-of-depressing to me. It’s energizing and beautiful and nasty and wild. Look at Denny! Look at his awesome sweatshirt. He died on my fifth birthday, so we are bound for all eternity.
This is the only time I’ve ever wanted to not have sex with Kenickie.
One of my new year’s resolutions is to start surfing again, especially with Joey Ramone.
So at my New Year’s party I wore my zebra skirt with “zebra ears” and then it got cold and I went upstairs and put on my leopard coat and my friend Jed was like, “Your coat is going to eat your skirt!” which is definitely the cleverest thing I’ve heard so far in 2012.
